Crazy hair and random pics
There was the most beautiful moon the other night and morning, this picture does not do it justice!
We are borrowing this jump-a-roo until Briella (Jessi's baby) is old enough to use it. I didn't know if it would be much different then the saucer that Kycee was not very entertained with any more. I was wrong! Kycee LOVES this thing, she jumps and jumps, then will wait for you to watch her and start jumping again.

Cute pictures of Koya after her hair was braided, she thought it was pretty funny. And the towel there, this was her baby for the evening.

Girly-girl and Kycee's scedule
Most of those who know me, especially while I was growing up, know that was not the most girly girl. I don't ever remember playing with babies or barbies, I was always out playing with my brothers and all the neighbor kids. After church I would run downstairs as fast as I could to change out of my dress. I always wanted to wear tennis shoes and t-shirts and didn't care to wear make-up or even try to style my hair. Starting high school I started slowly attempting to do my hair (because of my sister who would hound me and hound me) and also started wearing a little make up.
I now love to get dressed up, do my hair and look nice. I love this even more now that I work in a field with pretty much all guys. I love having both sides, that I am strong, work great with guys, but yet I love PINK, I wear pink glasses, watch, and anything else I can think of at work. Anyways the point of this little paragraph is to give a little insight into how crazy it is to watch Koya grow, being the TOTAL opposite of me!
From the time Koya was tiny she started playing with babies and I don't care that she likes things, but I don't go out of my way to initiate them. Koya hit the dress upstage recently and yes she is sooo cute to watch, getting all dressed up. Last week she discovered (at a friends house) the dress up high heel shoes, now that she has a pair they are her number one staple to wear around the house. She also is in this "skirt" mode, where she wants to wear a skirt everyday or she doesn't think she is cute! Really, does this stuff start already? I make a deal on the cold days that she has to wear pants, but she also gets to wear skirts, just not EVERYDAY.
Today while she was taking a shower I ran downstairs to get her an outfit for school. I asked here what she wanted to wear and of course she said a skirt, which it was beautiful weather today, so it was a good idea. I picked a skirt out, along with this really cute black/red plaid vest over a white button up shirt, all one piece, brought it upstairs and laid it on my bed. After Koya got out of the shower she was being a little whiny so she got a free trip down to her room until she could cheer up. A few moments later I hear Koya coming up the stairs with a smile and telling me that she was all done and happy. I told her to go into my room and get her clothes off the bed, before going to get her clothes, she turns to me and says "mom, I want to wear pink shirt, not a red one, red isn't cute, I want a pink one", I was amazed, I look at her and said "how did you know I had a red shirt"? That is how good she is, she knows all of her clothes, colors, and what she wants and noticed which shirt I had gotten.
Of course she wanted to wear a pink shirt, so I gave her a choice, you can wear the skirt with the shirt I picked, or you can wear a pink shirt with some pants? You know she picked the skirt outfit which was so darling! As I was getting her dressed and putting the shirt on, she looks up at me and goes mom, we are going to have to wash this shirt if that girl cries on it again. I said what girl? She had told me this story the first day of school, but I had forgotten, that this girl was sad and started crying on her. I asked her if she gave her a hug to make her feel better and she said no, she was hugging me. Her memory amazes me, I remember some things, but I don't remember a lot of detailed things, what I was wearing when what happened, etc. Now Aaron on the other hand can remember everything and very detailed.
Koya can come home from school and tell us about multiple kids and what they were wearing, how their hair was done, etc. I hope this is a trait that she will develop and use to her great advantage and learning in life.
KYCEE's Schedule:
I typed my monthly update on Kycee on Halloween and she already had some changes. Only 2 days after she started sleeping great again at night with out being swaddled or with a blanket over her. She is finally starting to sleep good on her stomach and move around without it bothering her. Daylights savings was also the night of Halloween and that has not helped us much with Kycee's schedule, it hasn't changed in a bad way and actually may be alittle better, I am going to see how it goes for a week or so and then go from there if it needs to be changed. She is waking up earlier because of the time change so this is how it goes: Wake 7am-8oz bottle, sleeps again from 7:15-9:30, food 10am, around 11-12:30 nap, food @ 1pm, nap 2:30-5, food @5, 7-8:30 nap, 8oz bottle, 9:00 bedtime. We have been giving her 3oz with the food given at 5, we will increase the food next week and only be giving the morning and night bottle.

Kycee 7 months

WOW is all I can say, my little baby is 7 months old! She is SUCH a joy, we love her to death, and can't get enough of her. Again like I have probably said every month, she is such a good, happy baby. She smiles all the time, and is content just hanging out. She does get a little fussy if she is over tired or hungry, but she is on a great schedule, so that doesn't happen often.
This month has been interesting with her, she decided that she doesn't want to just lay still anymore in her bed and is starting to roll and turn. I don't really care how she sleeps now, she is big enough to sleep on her stomach, but she isn't used to it, so she rolls over and then ends up on her hands and knees in the crawling position and then won't lay down. She ends up fussing a little and we have to go in and lay her down again. She was doing that a couple times a night, which it only takes a second to go in and lay her back down, but it does mess up your sleep for the night, especially when she has been sleeping through the night since 7 weeks! We started swaddling her again, we had stopped doing this at 3 months, so I really didn't want to start it up again, but she wasn't sleeping great either. The swaddling worked great again! After 2 weeks we started unwrapping her again and letting her get used to the moving and sleeping. We then just started putting a blanket over her legs and around under the mattress to keep her from rolling, but allowing her to be able to move her arms and legs as she wants. This has been working really good, so hopefully soon she will be back on track and sleeping however she turns soon!
She has been getting up on her hands and knees all the time and started this not too long after turning 6 months old, right now she is only moving backwards, but she does a great job getting around until she gets backed up and stuck under something. I am really surprised that she hasn't started moving forward yet, but I am sure it won't be long.
Kycee is so dang cute and is now trying to give kisses. I know that all kids when you give them a kiss they open their mouth, but she is now leaning in mouth open to give you a kiss, and I love it! If not mentioned before she sits up great and rarely tips over and has been doing this for sometime, again right around just after turning 6 months.
I have been taking Koya and Kycee swimming when I have the chance to Heath's pool....Koya is still doing great over there, she will go on her stomach kicking, trying to move her arms, but the don't come out of the water much, and is able to roll onto her back. I sometimes have to help her get her stomach up once she rolls over, but she is close, and then she can float there for sometime. Kycee is doing awesome!! She floated by herself on her back this last week, I couldn't believe it. It is really hard to watch and do, because I have to watch her drink some water and struggle to keep her head up the right way, but I know this will be great and she will be floating sooooo good by this summer and hopefully trying to swim?? We shall see. I still takes time with me working with her floating and then slowly I can let go for about 5 seconds and then I have to help her head again to reposition. She is still drinking some water and gulping a lot of air while on her back, but that should improve quick now that she is getting the floating down. The sad thing is, that when we get to the pool she gets a sad face, so I know she doesn't like it, but I also know she won't remember it, and when she gets a little better at it, she will love it!
We started Kycee on baby food at 6 months and I am following a schedule out of the baby whisperer book. It will have her off the bottle around 10 months and it is going great so far! We have been slowly introducing foods one at a time for a week, along with replacing the bottle with this food, right now she is eating sweet potatoes, squash, and pears. Here is her schedule: She wakes up at 8am and gets 8oz bottle, 10am 2tsp sweet potatoes, around 10:30 she naps until 12 or 12:30 (this nap has shortened), 1:00 2tsp squash, 2:00-4:30 or 5 nap (this is her good long nap), 5:00 2tsp pears along with 3oz bottle, 7-8:30ish nap, 9:00 8oz bottle, 9:30 bed.
Koya things: Her word for this past week has been "stupendous", I have NO idea where she got it, but she says it all the time, and it is pretty cute.
She also has been on a kick of imaginary friends, she takes them everywhere with her, buckles them in the car, or the trunk sometimes, and we have to make sure that we don't forget them. She has a great imagination and it entertains her really good now. Her friends names are: Janie, Chewy, and Sparky.
She has such a sweet heart and always wanting to help, infact she was asking Aaron the other day to help her with the dishes. She always tells me she loves me and at the sweetest times. She loves calling baby sister "bubba". She is still at the age that I think she gets bored and always wants to be doing something, which at times can drive you crazy, but I still love the girl, and she is the best.
She is now able to buckle into the car seat and loves playing in the car too. She can say the Pledge of Allegiance so good, I am so proud of her, she loves school, and is starting to learn all the sounds of the letters and what starts with them.

Halloween
Happy Halloween!
Carved a pumpkin with Koya this year, she wasn't sure about the inside and kept calling it "gunk". She tried scrapping it out with a spoon, but when I asked her to use her hand she wanted nothing to do with it.....she attempted, but wouldn't touch it.
She was thinking about it!

We had a great day today, worked outside trying to get the hot tub ready and running, took the girls swimming, and of course dressed up for trick or treating!
Cute little laddy bug! She was not in the most picture taking mood this afternoon.
Ya, she was more interested in what was going on over there, then looking at the camera.
Our precious little Cinderella!
Koya LOVED Halloween this year. Last year she was scared of anything and everything, this year she was actually wanting to look at the "scary" masks in the stores and touch them. She looked forward to going to houses and saying "trick or treat" for days leading up to this.
We took a trip around the block and she had the best time running up to the doors, saying "trick or treat" and of course what better then getting CANDY for it!
Can you believe it, even Aaron and I dressed up. Every year we have Halloween parties that we can go to (if I am not working), but we have a hard time going because we never can think of anything (and I don't want to buy anything) for a costume. This year I got a couple things here and there at the store to make something......a pink witch, that is something right :) I got Aaron the wig and he found the rest at home.....I was impressed with his, it turned out really well! It was fun walking around dressed up as a family and Koya going up to the houses.
We didn't make it to any parties this year because of me working and the kids having a cold, but next year, here we come!!

Leaves
The cousins stopped by the other day and they could not resist the leaves on the front yard, so we took advantage of it, put them in a pile and let them all play. Koya had not played in them yet and loved it.
Emma in the back ground still at work, Kindra about ready to throw some leaves, and Koya, and Lydia
Kycee wasn't sure what to think about the leaves, she didn't scream, but she didn't smile. She sat there and just took it all in. I remember Koya around this age, the first time we put her in the leaves she SCREAMED and SCREAMED! Koya was a very sensitive baby, especially with sounds.....Kycee seems to be a mix between a text book baby and angle baby according to the "baby whisperer".
Lydia, Kycee, Emma
How funny is this picture! I think Emma has magical powers and can float in the air!!
Kindra laughing and laughing after throwing leaves!
